Faith Driven Prayer

Starting next week from June the 6th-12th we will be joining together in prayer with churches across QB (Queensland Baptists) to pray for revival!

This is a wonderful thing to be doing and I want to wholeheartedly encourage us to take a look at the resources available via the link below to help us in our prayer, including devotional resources.

As we do this I believe we will both be blessed as individuals and as a church and movement of churches!

Let us be encouraged by the power of prayer in scriptures such as James 5:17-18:
Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.

Or Mark 11:23-24:
Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

These verses and others encourage is in the prevailing power of persistent and faith driven prayer.

As we prepare fort this I want to also encourage us to not strive in our own power or strength, just as we have discussed the futility of trying to do this over the last few weeks in our services.

Let us remember Isaiah 40:28:
But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
